VOLUNTEERING PAGE

Ever thought of volunteering?
Welcome to our Volunteering pages.
There are amazing opportunities for you to enjoy the fun of Scouting by helping out with 20th Chiswick Scout Group. Get involved using skills you already have; maybe a first aider or a cook, or by giving instruction to young people on your favourite hobby or looking after a small group of young people on an occasional or regular basis.

Everyone has something to give. As well as working with young people, we have a number of behind-the-scenes roles. Volunteering can fit around you and your life and give something back to your community.

We offer training and skills that benefit you both as an individual and a volunteer. You will learn new skills that enhance your CV, discover adventure and make new friends.

Volunteer Vacancies
Presently we are looking for enthusiastic people for the following positions:

IN OUR BEAVER COLONY
Working with our youngest members (6 to 8 years) on Monday evenings approximately 6 - 8 p.m. during school term times. Occasional weekends and other evening meetings.
Beaver Scout Leader
This is a challenging opportunity for you to manage and lead the Beaver Section. You would be responsible for facilitating the smooth running of the Beaver Colony to include the planning and delivery of a range of activities at their weekly meetings that will provide fun and adventure to this age range. Included in these activities would be days out and sleep overs. You would be supported by Assistant Leaders, Section Assistants and Young Leaders. This is a uniform position and full training is provided.
Assistant Beaver Scout Leader
This is an exciting role for people that like to get involved, on a weekly basis, helping with the organising and planning of a range of activities to provide fun and adventure for this age range. There will also be opportunities for days out and sleep overs. Your role will involve working closely with the Beaver Scout Leader to facilitate the smooth running of the Beaver Colony. This role is a uniform position and full training is provided.
Colony Assistants
This is an exciting opportunity for people who would like to help out with our Beavers but are unable to make a full Leader commitment. The role involves working with our youngest members, helping with their activities and providing general support to the young people and their Leaders at meetings, days out etc. This role is a voluntary uniformed position and training is available.

IN OUR CUB PACK
Working with our Cub Scouts (8 to 10½ years) on Wednesday evenings approximately 6.15 - 8.15 p.m. during school term times. Occasional weekends and other evening meetings.
Assistant Cub Scout Leaders
An exciting role for people that like to get involved, on a weekly basis, helping with the organizing and planning of a range of activities to provide fun and adventure for this age range. Your role will involve working closely with the Cub Scout Leader (Akela) to facilitate the smooth running of the Cub Pack. This role is a uniform position and full training is provided.
We are also very keen to find someone who is able to give up time to take our Cubs off to camps as our present Leaders are unable to do this on a regular basis.
Pack Assistants
This is an exciting opportunity for people who would like to help out with our Cubs but are unable to make a full Leader commitment. The role involves working with our Cubs, helping with their activities and providing general support to the young people and their Leaders at meetings, days out, camps etc. This role is a voluntary uniformed position and training is available.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
Above are the major vacancies that we have, however, if you would be interested in volunteering there are many other volunteer roles available; not all involve directly working with young people.
